Aankara is owned and operated by Karen Stephenson.
Karen has been a freelance writer and editor for over 15 years, and resides in
Newmarket (York Region-GTA), Ontario, Canada.
Karen has worked as the managing editor for The Month Ahead for several years
and was a member on the editorial board for Balance Magazine. She has also freelanced
for several newspapers and print magazines.
In addition to print media, Karen writes for
www.suite101.com. Within a few short weeks at Suite101, she was offered a
position as a feature writer in the Health and Wellness section. The work Karen
has accomplished in her short career at Suite101 opened several doors for her
(e.g. a monthly writer for Greenmaple Wellness).
Due to her analytical and professional abilities, Karen has also been a copy
editor (and substantive editor) for numerous books.
Karen's abilities lead to recognition by Canadian Senator Anne
C. Cools. Senator Cools utilized her organizational skills to help organize conferences
and a few
years ago Karen accepted an invitation from Senator Cools to be a guest speaker at a public forum
Karen is a stickler for proper grammar and structure. Her
superb writing skills, blended with her education
as a social service worker, enables her to leverage human psychology to effectively
target intended audiences.
